Hello

Welcome to My Camera Grip, home of the Lens Defend! Our goal is to be able to produce any grip for any camera. (*)

A Lens Defend projects out in front of your camera to help protect the lens from some types of damage.

If you haven't yet, visit our Etsy shop to see if we already make a grip for your camera. If we make a grip for your camera but it's missing features you'd like, request a custom grip.

If our Etsy shop doesn't have a grip for your camera, consider entering the measurements of your camera so we can make one for you!

How to get a FREE custom grip for YOUR camera:

  • First, watch our videos
  • Next, contact us on our Etsy shop and we'll get you registered.
  • Then, enter your camera's measurements. You'll need digital calipers that read millimeters. These can be found online for about $10. (If you had to purchase digital calipers, let us know.) Make sure the calipers are big enough to measure your camera and/or lens(es) *.
  • When you're done entering your camera's measurements, go to the My Cameras page and click "Request a prototype".
  • We'll send you the prototype so you can test the fit on your camera.
  • If the fit's not quite right, update your camera's measurements and request another prototype.
  • When you're happy with the fit, click "No more prototypes! Make my grip".
  • We'll make one and ship it to you at NO COST TO YOU.
  • If you had to purchase digital calipers, let us know.

(*) Yeah, Ok. That was a pretty bold statement. It needs some qualifications:

  • Our 3D printer can only do 200mm x 200mm x 200mm. If your camera is bigger than that, you'll need to wait for us to grow.
  • We offer a number of options for our grips: grip size & style, quick release plates, various recesses for tracking devices, etc. If there's something you'd like to see, contact us. No guarantees, but we'll work with you to see what's possible.
  • If we don't already produce a grip for your camera, we're going to need your help. You need to use digital calipers to take various measurements of your camera, create an account on this site, and fill out the information. We'll work with you to produce a grip you're happy with. It may be a time consuming process, but hopefully everyone's happy in the end.
  • We're mostly talking about handheld photography cameras that have a tripod screw thread. Some cameras, like the Sigma sd Quattro or some of these cameras or some "Super Zoom" cameras are likely to be outliers.
  • Use our products at your own risk.
